Common industrial cartridge materials and their applications: 1) Standard polyester fiber — regular dry dust (grinding, cutting, wood dust) at ambient temperature (≤120°C), cost-effective; 2) PTFE-membrane polyester — fine, oily and slightly sticky dust; the membrane prevents dust adhesion and allows thorough cleaning, with filtration precision down to 0.3μm; 3) Anti-static polyester — flammable and explosive dust such as coal, aluminum and magnesium powder, eliminating static buildup hazards; 4) High-temperature media — for hot flue gas at 120–240°C.

The calculation is based on air volume and filtration velocity: 1) Confirm the collector's rated air volume; 2) Select a standard filtration velocity by dust type (0.8–1.2 m/min for regular dry dust, 0.6–0.8 m/min for fine dust); 3) Calculate total filtration area = total air volume ÷ filtration velocity; 4) Based on the area of a single cartridge, calculate the required quantity, reserving a 10–20% margin to avoid overload. Excessive filtration velocity leads to over-velocity operation and rapid cartridge clogging.
No. Excessively high precision means smaller media pores and greatly increased airflow resistance, which can reduce equipment suction, clog cartridges quickly, and increase cleaning frequency and energy consumption; too low a precision fails to capture fine dust and causes excessive emissions. Match precision to the conditions: standard precision for ordinary industrial dust; for strict emission requirements and fine dust, membrane high-precision cartridges are recommended.
Replace immediately if any of the following occur: 1) Media damaged, cracked or punctured with dust escaping the outlet; 2) Severe caking where resistance stays high after washing/multiple cleanings and suction drops sharply; 3) Cartridge deformed or pleats collapsed, seal failed; 4) Media aged/powdered, filtration accuracy lost; 5) Service life far exceeds standard with severely degraded performance.
Mixing is not recommended. Old and new cartridges differ greatly in resistance; airflow favors the low-resistance new ones, leaving old cartridges with minimal flow and accelerated clogging, while overall filtration efficiency becomes unbalanced and the collector's performance suffers; it also shortens the remaining life of old cartridges. Batch replacement is advised.
Anti-static cartridges must be used, and: 1) The whole cartridge is anti-static—both media and cage are anti-static materials to prevent static accumulation; 2) The equipment is fitted with explosion vent panels, spark arresters and other explosion-proof accessories; 3) High-pressure over-cleaning is strictly prohibited to avoid secondary dust lifting and explosion risk; 4) Clean cartridge dust regularly to prevent pile-up and spontaneous combustion.
